Name of Department: History Year of Establishment: June 1992 Departmental Highlights: • Adoption of the Problem-Solving Method in teaching and learning. • Organisation of lectures by eminent resource persons. • Guidance sessions by alumni to inspire and mentor students. • Celebration of birth and death anniversaries of eminent personalities. • Enrichment of students’ knowledge through study tours and field visits to historical sites. • Collection and preservation of newspaper clippings on historical topics. • Development of creativity through poster presentations on diverse themes. • Enhancement of students’ reading skills, confidence, and public speaking abilities through seminars. • Organisation of unit tests for self-study encouragement and quality improvement. • Organisation of a State-level seminar on ‘Local History Writing’. • Promotion of critical thinking through book review activities by students. • Faculty participation in conferences and Faculty Development Programmes. • Active involvement of students in NSS, NCC, sports, cultural programmes, and related activities. • Academic collaboration with the Department of History, Annasaheb Awate College, Manchaar Best Practices: • Research projects for students on ‘Local History Writing’. • Introduction of a short-term course on the Modi script. • Organisation of coin exhibitions to enhance historical awareness. • Effective use of video lectures and PowerPoint presentations in teaching. • Undertaking of heritage conservation activities.

 Providing quality education, promoting critical thinking, conserving heritage, and creating opportunities for rural students to explore history.  Implementing activities for strengthening our culture and heritage and acquiring historical knowledge for enhancing the employability of the students to shape their future and to protect and nurture our Indian legacy.
